Swaraj Says Sangha Parivar and Jamaat-e-Islami United in Celebrating His Defeat, Calls it a Badge of Honor

Thiruvananthapuram: In a fiery response to his defeat in the Nilambur by-election, LDF candidate M. Swaraj stated that his loss is being celebrated the most by the Sangh Parivar and the Jamaat-e-Islami, a situation he described as a source of “joy and pride” for a communist.

In a detailed Facebook post on Tuesday, Swaraj claimed that these two groups, despite being on opposite ends of the political spectrum, have found common cause in celebrating the LDF’s setback. He argued that this unusual alliance proves his political stance is correct.

“The Sangh Parivar and the Islamic Sangh Parivar have jointly proven that the LDF’s defeat/UDF’s victory is a cause for their mutual celebration,” Swaraj wrote. “As a communist, what more reason do I need to be happy, even in electoral defeat?”

He pointed out the irony of the Sangh Parivar celebrating vociferously, even though their own official candidate running on the lotus symbol lost their security deposit. He accused the Jamaat-e-Islami of matching the Sangh Parivar’s “standards of mockery, contempt, and lies” in their celebration.

Using highly charged language, Swaraj asserted that being targeted by extremist forces validates his political ideology.

“If the Hindutva Taliban and the Islamic Sangh Parivar attack you with clasped hands, if communal terrorists of all colors attack you together, there is no greater joy or pride than that,” he concluded.
