KOCHI: In a shocking revelation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has informed a special court in Kochi that the banned outfit, the Popular Front of India (PFI), had prepared a “hit list” containing the names of 950 individuals in Kerala. The list of targets reportedly includes a serving District Judge.
These explosive details were submitted to the NIA court as part of the agency’s report opposing the bail applications of four PFI activists arrested in connection with various cases.
According to the NIA, the master list was compiled from several smaller lists recovered from different PFI operatives during the course of their investigation:
- A list of 240 people was recovered from Sirajuddeen, an accused in the Sreenivasan murder case.
- A list of 500 people was found at the house of an operative named Ayub.
- A list of 232 people was seized from the PFI’s “Periyar Valley” campus.
- A list of 5 people was recovered from an absconding PFI member, Abdul Vahad.
The NIA report stated that the lists were highly detailed, containing the target’s photograph, age, position in their respective organization, a route map to their location, and even information about their family members.
The agency claims to have uncovered a dedicated PFI team that was tasked with creating these lists and was given special training to carry out attacks. The NIA also alleged that the PFI conducted weapons training for its members at its Periyar Valley campus in Aluva.
The NIA is currently investigating two major cases related to the activities of the banned PFI in Kerala. This latest report points to a highly organized and dangerous conspiracy by the outfit to target its opponents.
