
Thiruvananthapuram: Former Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, who is undergoing treatment at SUT Hospital in Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, following a heart attack, has shown slight improvement in his health, the hospital confirmed in a medical bulletin today. The veteran leader remains under the close observation of a multi-specialty team of expert doctors.
Mr. Achuthanandan was rushed to the hospital on Monday morning after suffering a heart attack, with his initial condition causing concern across the state. A dedicated medical team comprising a cardiologist, neurologist, intensivist, and nephrologist is currently managing his treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).
This afternoon, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan arrived at the hospital to inquire about the veteran leader’s health. Due to Mr. Achuthanandan being in the ICU, the Chief Minister was unable to see him directly. He spent time with the treating doctors and family members to get a detailed update on his condition before departing.
The news comes after senior political leaders, including M.V. Govindan, T.P. Ramakrishnan, and Elamaram Kareem, visited the hospital on Monday. The people of Kerala are watching with concern and hope for every update on the health of one of their most senior political figures.
